My girlfriend of 1 year lives in the UK and I live in Spain. I am planning to visit her for 4 weeks rather than the odd weekend we normally share, but I don’t want to endanger her housing benefits. Does anyone know if this is possible?

What do you think of British expats in Spain?

I went to visit my nan for the first time as she moved from England to Spain 3 years ago. She moved to the town of La Marina near Alicante and I was expecting a small Spanish town with white washed houses, tapas bars and authentic spanish restaurants. When I got there I was in complete shock. My nan hadn’t made friends with any Spaniards, just English, she shopped at the local British supermarket (which stocks everything that is available to us in the UK), she took us to her favourite British bar ‘Big Ben’ and she hadn’t learnt one word of Spanish!!!! The streets were full of British bars and shops and everywhere you looked a Union Jack was draped over the white washed buildings. I disagree with all this, but wanted to know if it was just me???
